Dear John,

Sixty-one years ago today, the US launched a chimpanzee into space. He suffered tremendously not only that day but from the moment he was torn from the free life he should have had. Thank you Emily Gambone for the latest post in our “Why We Fight for Nonhuman Rights” blog series, which you can read here [[link removed]] and share on Facebook [[link removed]] , Twitter [[link removed]] , Instagram [[link removed]] , and LinkedIn [[link removed]] .

All of human history shows that the only way to truly protect human beings’ fundamental interests is to recognize their rights. It’s no different for nonhuman animals. Thank you for reading and for supporting this fight!
