Team,

When September 11 happened, I did not realize the extent to which it was going to change the trajectory of my life.

I knew I couldn't ask other people to do the fighting for me, so I went on to serve three combat tours. And the time I spent protecting our country is still one of the greatest honors of my life. Everything that has come after can be traced to that exact moment in time and remains my north star.

I think there is rarely a day that goes by where a combat veteran wakes up and doesn't think about their fellow soldiers -- you feel an obligation to make sure the sacrifice was not made in vain. So today is a very special holiday for me as I think about all of my brothers and sisters who stood beside me to defend our country, and honor their sacrifices beyond words.

It's critical that the men and women who put service above self and kept our country safe are prioritized, but right now too many veterans are being left behind in America -- experiencing homelessness, addiction, financial instability, or mental health issues. Despite the skills and unparalleled leadership experience they developed in the Armed Forces, too many are struggling to re-enter into civilian life and find good opportunities back home.

It's time that we take better care of those who put their lives on the line to protect our families back home, and provide access to the services they need to get back on their feet.

This Veterans Day, let's do more than just honor and pay our respects to our troops. Let's recommit to supporting and uplifting our veteran communities, and ensuring everyone can make a good life in America.

Thank you,

Jason
