Our nation was founded in democracy when we left the ‘Mad King of England.’ Yet still, there are mad kings in power in Raleigh and Washington. The work we’re doing at the New North Carolina Project is fighting back against the silencing in communities of color.

For over a decade now, representation in our state has been ripped apart by gerrymandering, starting in 2010 when extremists took back our state legislatures, and then again in 2013 when the Voting Rights Act of 1965 was gutted.

2022 will be over before we know it, and we have a massive goal of registering 50,000 Black and Brown voters, so we’ve got to keep it moving. Will you give the gift of registering one voter by donating $33, or whatever you can do by midnight tonight? We still need 27 more donors to hit our goal.
