Action Alert: Expand Educational Opportunity

Expanding educational opportunity is one of the most crucial steps Georgia can take for the overall success of the next generation, and there are two bills in the house education committee right now that do just that.

House bill 60 and house bill 999 will be heard in committee Tuesday, February 1st, and we need you to make your voice heard on this issue! These bills both provide pathways for more students in failing schools or with specific needs to still obtain a quality education through a different learning environment, and empower parents to make the best decisions in the educational future of their child.

Take Action!

HB 60 creates accounts for parents to use their tax dollars for educational opportunities outside the limits of their local public school. These accounts would be available for students with diagnosed medical issues that affect their education, those that come from poor families or were adopted from foster care, and children of military service members.

HB 999 creates the same opportunity, but expands the availability of these accounts to almost all Georgia public school students, from all walks of life. This bill would be a great leap forward in educational opportunity for Georgia students.

Both of these bills empower students across Georgia to receive the best possible education, and we need you to call the house education committee members to let them know you support HB 60 and HB 999! Making your voice heard on this issue is vital to moving these bills out of committee and to the floor for a vote.

Take Action to Empower Parents and Expand Educational Opportunity!
