It is with a sense of humility and a deep commitment to protecting our democracy that I am running for reelection to Congress in the newly formed 16th Congressional District (CA-16).

The new 16th District now will include the coastside cities of Half Moon Bay and Pacifica, communities I had the privilege of representing as a San Mateo County Supervisor. It also includes new portions of San Jose... Little Saigon, Seven Seas, the area near Kelley Park which includes the cherished Happy Hollow Park and Zoo, the Japanese Friendship Garden and History Park, and more.

I genuinely look forward to campaigning and getting to meet new voters and of course be in the communities that I have had the privilege of representing.

There are areas of my current District that I will no longer represent and I’m sad about this. It’s been an honor to represent Redwood City, Scotts Valley, and all the wonderful small Santa Cruz Mountain towns of the San Lorenzo Valley. We’ve been through a lot together and I will miss working with them all. I will continue to work hard on their behalf this year and assure a smooth transition thereafter.

What I want my constituents to know is that though the number of our congressional district changes, my work will always be centered on every family, every business, every school and every community need to move us all forward.
