Honestly, this has been a tough month. With all that’s going on, we haven’t been focused on the usual campaign stuff. And that’s okay!
This month Alexandria endorsed Jessica Cisneros running in Texas’ 28th district to unseat the last anti-choice Democrat in the House — and helped to raise tens of thousands of dollars for her campaign to recruit volunteers and contact as many voters as possible.
Alexandria stood alongside app delivery workers who fought for and won major protections in New York, and she visited apartment buildings whose heating systems flooded to learn more and accelerate relief for families who are currently without heat.
On top of all that, New York had its worst fire in three decades in the Bronx, killing 17 people. We raised funds as a movement to support relief efforts and are working to ensure safe and dignified housing for all.
Fundraising for our campaign has been on the back burner. And, again, that’s okay. Alexandria’s focus has been on what matters most during this turbulent month.
But, it does leave us with a pretty big gap in fundraising, and that’s why we really could use your help today. If you are able, can you chip in $3 right now to help us close this gap in fundraising and meet our January target?
We’ve only raised about 70% this month as we had at this point in December. That’s why we need to have a really big end-of-month fundraising surge to ensure we don’t fall too far behind.
Our average donation this month is $15.10. So to hit our January goal, it would take somewhere around 993 of you chipping in that amount to close the gap.
This team has never let us down before. But, whether or not we close this gap, we have a lot to be proud of this month.
