As the first month of 2022 draws to a close, I wanted to provide a quick update about the new Congressional district I’ll be running in and what we can expect our campaign to look like this year.
The new 24th district lines shift south, and I am excited to have the opportunity to represent new communities in Ventura County, including the cities of Ojai and Ventura. I will continue to represent southern San Luis Obispo County, including the City of San Luis Obispo, and all of Santa Barbara County.
As you know, our first contest this year is the June 7 Primary. That means we have less than 6 months to meet over 120,000 new voters who have never seen my name on their ballot before. I have always relied on volunteer-driven, grassroots campaigns, and this year will be no different. We are busy organizing and preparing our field campaign, and look forward spending the next few months connecting with new voters and re-connecting with those who I currently have the privilege of representing.
Of course, this new district means our field operation will need to increase significantly. We will be working out of three counties instead of two, and, needless to say, this expansion means we must increase our budget.

I am optimistic about the new year and the changes and opportunities it will bring. I look forward to staying in touch with you and seeing you on the campaign trail. We Democrats know we have a lot of work to do to keep our Majority this fall, but, with help from supporters like you, I am confident we will have the resources we need to connect with every voter and run a strong campaign in 2022.
