So here’s the truth: Democrats face a tough election year ahead, and right now, Republicans have a cash advantage. They’re focused on raising tens of millions through dark money channels and playing to the wealthiest and most extreme wing of their party. And they mobilize their base of supporters through baseless claims about the 2020 election, doing everything in their power to obstruct Democrats in Washington.

Now, we may not be able to pass everything we need to this Congress, but the reality is that the GOP is a party that we can’t rely on if they control the levers of government. And it’s not just Donald Trump. It’s everyone who enables him with reckless partisan politics that we’re seeing right now, and everyone who corrodes our democracy.

Here’s the other truth. In 2020, we came together, flipped the Senate and elected President Biden. Despite the attempts at election subversion, the influence of dark money, and relentless lies, we came together and demanded change.

It takes durable, lasting majorities to govern — and that means working in our communities not just when it’s convenient, or with a flood of TV advertising in the closing weeks. It means, as the late Senator Paul Wellstone understood, not sitting on the sidelines, getting out and organizing our communities, and building the trust and relationships to make people’s lives better.
