Today is Veterans Day, and I’ve been reflecting a lot on what it means to truly honor the brave Americans that embody the definition of public service.

To me, the only way to truly recognize the struggle and sacrifice of our country’s veterans is to guarantee them and their families the support and tools they need to thrive. As the daughter, grand-daughter, niece, and sister of veterans, I am committed to doing everything I can to resolve any challenges preventing our veterans from living the dignified, post-enlistment life they deserve.

That’s why I’ve sponsored bills like the Improving Legal Services for Female Veterans Act, the FIGHT Veteran Suicides Act, the Access to Contraception for Servicemembers and Dependents Act of 2019, and the Homeless Veteran Families Act.

Today, I hope you will join me in honoring our nation’s servicemembers and reflect on the many ways we can support our veterans and their families.
