Dear John,
Although we’re already one month into the new year, we at Prison Fellowship are still celebrating what the Lord accomplished in 2021! Stories from our staff across the country continue to roll in with news of God’s great goodness toward those we serve, and I wanted to share a few of them with you. Just before Christmas, a gentleman in Florida emailed us with an unusual request:
“This morning I was reading yesterday’s mail and read an article from Moody about the partnership of Today in the Word with Prison Fellowship. My wife works as a volunteer at the Lowell Women’s Correctional Center in Florida near Ocala. … We are putting together 1,000 packets to give to the inmates in that facility. By some miracle, do you have 1,000 of the devotionals Face to Face with Jesus somewhere nearby that we could give to them?”
Because of God’s faithfulness and your faithful

support of Prison Fellowship, we were able to provide those devotionals to the women in Florida! And now 1,000 women can spend this year face to face with Jesus. Glory be to God!
We also have been hearing amazing stories of family connection because you supported families through Angel Tree Christmas this year. Here’s just one from George in North Dakota that particularly touched our hearts:
“I got a [video] monitor visit from my four babies on Christmas Eve at 6 p.m. from where they are at in Utah to where I am at in North Dakota. During the monitor visit, I was shown the presents that Angel Tree has presented to my babies, and I got to watch my four babies open their presents. To see their beautiful smiles, screams of happiness, really made me smile and happy. Hearing my four babies say ‘I love you’ was beyond words for me. I just want to thank all of you at Angel Tree Christmas for all you do for us incarcerated parents that can’t be there with our babies, and to know you at Angel Tree Christmas have been there for our babies, year after year after year, while the world is going through a terrible pandemic.”
And that’s not all! Over the past year our advocacy team has worked tirelessly for justice that restores. From limiting driver’s license suspensions in Oklahoma, to ensuring returning citizens in Texas are equipped with the skills and training they need to get jobs, to helping small business owners with a criminal record gain access to emergency loans, our team, with your help, has made a difference in the lives of those affected by crime and incarceration. I’d encourage you to read our full report on our

criminal justice reform achievements for this year.
We know that the Lord is leading our team, and we give Him all the glory for His faithfulness in guiding us day by day. As our team gathers regularly to lift our praises and concerns to the Lord, are there any

prayers we could share on your behalf? We’d be honored to intercede for you as part of our Prison Fellowship family.
What a joy it is to serve alongside you! Thank you for your faithfulness and for joining us on this journey.
Celebrating Him,
JAMES J. ACKERMAN
President and Chief Executive Officer
