John,
Five years ago, the Trump administration enacted its Muslim ban, barring travel from Muslim majority countries. This racist, xenophobic policy separated families, prevented students from returning to their courses, left visas in limbo, and further intensified the existing prejudice Muslim Americans were already enduring.
While the Muslim ban has been overturned, there are no laws to stop a future President from enacting another discriminatory travel ban. But a new bill that’s passed in the House and has moved on to the Senate could change that.
The National Origin-Based Antidiscrimination for Nonimmigrants Act (NO BAN Act) would prohibit discrimination on the basis of religion while also limiting executive authority to issue future travel bans. Will you sign our petition to the Senate and tell them to pass the NO BAN Act now?

During the years of Muslim ban, thousands of families were intentionally and needlessly separated to fulfill Trump’s racist and cruel agenda.
And while President Biden did the right thing by overturning Trump’s ban, he enacted his own ban on eight Southern African countries, which he claims was due to the detection of the Omicron variant. Even when information surfaced that the Omicron variant was present in dozens of other countries and states within the U.S., the Biden administration kept this racist ban in place for several weeks.
We have the chance to STOP future Presidents from implementing any more racist and discriminatory bans. Sign our petition to the Senate now: pass the NO BAN Act.
In solidarity,
