John, going to war should never be an easy decision. Members of our armed forces make huge sacrifices. In a best case scenario, they spend months away from their homes and their families. Worst case? They don't make it back. Our veterans deserve a government that will stand with them. That will follow through on promises for education funding and better healthcare. But our LGBTQ veterans - particularly our trans veterans and service members - face an administration that routinely seeks to strip services and benefits from the actual people who have chosen to serve. While Trump casually talks of launching wars and issues threats on Twitter, our LGBTQ veterans face higher rates of suicide and homelessness. But LGBTQ candidates who have served themselves, like Pete Buttigieg, Gina Ortiz Jones in Texas, Pat Spearman in Nevada, Jane Campbell in North Carolina and Neil Rafferty in Alabama, will fight to ensure our LGBTQ veterans receive the services they need. John, if we must go to war, we must also support those who chose to fight. This Veterans Day, we thank our LGBTQ service members and veterans for the sacrifices they've made and pledge to continue working hard to send dedicated advocates to public office. Thanks again - LGBTQ Victory Fund |
