Please join me in thanking and recognizing our service men and women for their dedication and the many sacrifices they have made to protect our freedoms and defend our great nation.

Today, I also reflect on my own decision to enlist in the Marine Corps Reserves at age 19. I have never known a greater sense of camaraderie or courage than when serving alongside my fellow men and women in uniform.

I am honored to serve on the House Armed Services Committee, and am proud to fight daily on behalf of our servicemembers and veterans in order to ensure they receive the benefits they deserve, including working to increase access to VA healthcare and affordable housing.

There is no greater sacrifice than serving one’s country and I remain committed to supporting the needs of our service men and women.  Thank you for joining me today in honoring their service.
