Ok, legislation aside, let me tell you about the highlight of the week: WE WON THE KING OF THE HILL SOFTBALL GAME FOR THE FIRST TIME IN OVER 20 YEARS! With a score of 14-2, the Democrats took home the W! I went 3 for 4 with 4 RBIs and 2 runs scored. The Republicans may kill all my bills in retaliation, but their tears were SO worth it!!! ;)

In all seriousness though, the softball game is a super fun Tallahassee tradition in the spirit of bipartisanship. The night before we raised over $59k for charity and the game was hosted by the International Firefighters Unions from across the state.

Substance Abuse Disorders are treatable and the vast majority of folks recover to live healthy and prosperous lives. I had a great time learning and supporting Tampa Bay's recovery and rehab centers in the Capitol so we can continue to get folks the help they need to get back on track.

Life from time to time gives us lemons, let's make some lemonade, together.

In Judiciary, we heard HB 7, a controversial bill that restricts what our educators can and cannot teach in regards to race and sexual orientation. Once again, I got on my soapbox to rail against partisan overreach and the tribalism that's infected our politics. Please watch and share!

Back home, it was time for Gasparilla (one of my favorit holidays) I helped keep Mayor Castor safe from those skallywag pirates... at least for a little while!

We can all do more to promote safe consumption around Gasparilla. For me, that meant riding HART with the rest of the Krew!

Of course, I couldn't come back up to Tallahassee without getting some delicious local strawberries.

Ok, back to work!
