We set this goal because we understand a fundamental reality: The fossil
fuel industry is desperate, and they'll spare no expense to protect
business as usual. Wall Street and fossil fuel CEOs have a ton of
financial power to try and stop our climate agenda.

Their disinformation campaigns are alive and well. Fossil fuel companies
significantly increased their spending on lobbying to block the climate
measures in the Build Back Better Act — and it worked.^1

They continue greenwashing their climate destruction by promoting false
solutions and touting 'net-zero' goals that will do absolutely nothing for
the future of our climate.^2 Meanwhile, the industry is pouring money into
Google search ads to spread disinformation around climate.^3

That's a lot of false ads and attacks that we'll have to be prepared to
defend against, all while organizing on the ground to pass climate
measures.

want them. From day one, this movement has been built by everyday folks
