Friend, there are currently no Black women serving in the U.S. Senate – and that needs to change. That’s why I’m all in to elect Cheri Beasley in North Carolina, where she would make history as the state’s first Black senator.

During her long career in public service, Cheri has seen firsthand how the laws made in Washington too often fail working people – first as a judge, then as the first Black woman to serve as chief justice of the North Carolina Supreme Court. Now, she’s running to fight tirelessly in the Senate for all those who have been left out and left behind. And she’s got a real chance to win.

CNN ranks North Carolina as one of the most likely Senate seats to flip blue in November – but that’s exactly why the GOP is already pouring MILLIONS into this race to defeat her. With experts at Nate Silver’s FiveThirtyEight saying that Republicans are favored to take back the Senate, we need to compete everywhere we possibly can to prevent a Mitch McConnell-controlled majority – and NBC reports that Cheri’s race in North Carolina could very well determine Senate control.

In a battleground race this close, it’s all going to come down to resources. But with time running out before Monday’s critical midnight deadline, Cheri is way behind her end-of-month fundraising goal.
