FIRST: In 2019, Republican state legislators from across the country gathered at the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) conference -- a conservative-aligned forum notorious for promoting “stand your ground” laws and climate-denying resolutions -- to publicly talk about their plans to leverage the 2021 redistricting process to maintain GOP power.

THEN: Right-wing groups like The Heritage Foundation started using their powerful extreme platform to promote and justify GOP gerrymandering.

NOW: We’re fighting back against Republican plans to rig redistricting by supporting voters challenging gerrymandered maps in court in places like Ohio and Texas. And we continue to advocate for fair maps in states that have yet to finalize their plans. All while pushing back against conservative disinformation about redistricting.

Our end-of-month goal to raise $40,000 by 11:59pm tomorrow will help us end gerrymandering -- while combating right-wing talking points from “think tanks” like ALEC and The Heritage Foundation.

We set a goal to raise $40,000 because our work is too important. While we face map manipulators on one front, we also have to combat “think tanks” like The Heritage Foundation and ALEC that spread half-truths and oppose our mission to make the maps fair. We need to continue to hold GOP map manipulators accountable in court and in public.
