Hey Friend, nice to meet you! A quick intro, I’m Hannah Howell, your new Voter Registration Director at the Texas Democratic Party.

In my first month here, we’ve already launched one of the biggest voter registration campaigns in the party’s history! Before I explain why I need your support of our emergency Let the People Register fund, if you’re ready to help 42 Texans register to vote by chipping in $7, click here.

For the last 4 years, I’ve been building large scale voter registration initiatives to bring real change into people’s lives. From Arizona to the Pacific Northwest, my goal has always been helping people make their voices heard. And I’m excited to bring that energy here, to Texas.

Since I first started in grassroots organizing in 2008, I’ve worked hard to bring power back to historically underrepresented, disenfranchised communities. Friend, I’ve learned that the most powerful thing you can do in the fight for equity is register somebody to vote and get them to the polls.

There’s nothing quite like seeing someone realize that they can be a part of something bigger than themselves just by voting. By making their voice heard with the hope that they can make a real difference in their community. So many have been excluded from the political process for so long. But if you can just help someone use their voice, they’ll vote for progress.

My whole career has been guided by the idea that we have a better democracy when everyone has the opportunity to participate. But Texas Republicans are trying to push Black, Brown, Young, and Disabled communities out of the democratic process -- choosing the voters instead of the voters choosing them.

We won’t stand for that. That’s why we’re doubling down on our efforts to register thousands of new Texans, organizing in 254 counties. We’ll leave no stone unturned as we work around the clock to fight back against voter suppression and bring new voters to the polls.

If we’re going to tell Texas Republicans this November that we’ve had enough, we need your support. Will you rush $7 to our emergency Let the People Register fund to power our voter registration efforts before our midnight January 31st deadline?
