So today, I thought I’d share with you the very real story about Paul’s decision to run for Congress.

Like many of you, Paul and I watched what happened to our country on January 6, and were outraged as countless politicians denied what was happening. As you can imagine in a house with two career military officers, we often talk about service to our country and what it means to the preservation of our Democratic values; this was, indeed, another pivotal call to service in our lives, and if people with strength of character and conviction don’t step up to protect what is right and just, then who will?

We have never been a family who sits on the sidelines, and it is clear that we need someone like Paul - with his character, integrity, and thoughtfulness to bring principled leadership to our community. Of course, as parents, we want to teach our children the importance of serving others but doing it with humility and honor. I can think of no better example for Ellie, Jack, and Anna than their dad. I can think of no better role model and example of strong leadership than their dad’s decision to step up during this inflection point in our Democracy.

But here’s the thing, John. It’s expensive to run for Congress and neither of us has been in politics before, so we must rely on grassroots supporters like you to grow our campaign into one that can win. Paul is the only candidate who can beat Brian Fitzpatrick, but he can only do it with a strong campaign operation behind him.

Right now we’re coming up on an end-of-month fundraising deadline, and I know it would mean so much to Paul if you could donate to help his team reach their goal. Can we count on you?
