Imagine it’s January 2023, and current House GOP
Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy is being sworn in as the next
Speaker of the House.

Within a few short days, he proceeds to shut
down the January 6 Committee, and shortly after, starts moving to
strip committee assignments from Democrats who’ve stood up to
Republicans in the past.

When he spoke to far-right wing news outlet
Breitbart, and bluntly said that “Ilhan Omar should not be
serving on Foreign Affairs,” meaning serving on the House Foreign
Affairs Committee, he meant it.

Folks, this is the reality we’re facing if
Democrats lose the House this year. Republicans have made it very
clear that they will use their power to strip committee
assignments at will, without regard to consequences.

We can’t take any seat for granted, including
