This isn’t the email we want to be sending with 1 ½ days left before our end-of-month deadline — our FIRST critical deadline of 2022.
It’s a downer, but it’s important that we are as transparent as possible. Truthfully, despite a ton of effort, it looks like we’re falling behind on our goal.
In fact, we’re a little more than $121,000 behind what we raised via email by this point last month.
A slowdown after a big end-of-year push is pretty normal for campaigns, but with the primary just over four months away, we don’t have the room to slow down.
The GOP would *love* to see us fall short. They know John is the ONLY candidate who can flip this seat and beat a Republican in the general election, according to the latest public polling
That was the bad news, but here's the good news: We’ve still got a day and a half left to turn this around. We *might* still be able to make up all this ground. Let’s leave it all on the field and see if we can close up as much of the gap as possible.
No matter what happens when the clock strikes midnight on Monday, we should be proud of what we’ve accomplished so far. We’re running a competitive campaign — the kind that can WIN — and doing it with grassroots funding instead of the old school way of taking corporate PAC money and relying on big donors.
