Hello Somebody!

When we ask ourselves what this campaign is about, the answer is very simple.

We want a health care system that is not commodified, and where folks don’t die because they’ve got to ration out their insulin. That’s it and that’s all.

We need to have some truth and reconciliation about the ravages of racism in the United States of America. That’s it and that’s all.

We want clean water, clean air, and clean food. We must take care of Mother Earth right now. That’s it and that’s all.

We need our young people to be able to go to college without graduating with crippling amounts of student debt. That's it and that's all.

We want to finally have a justice system that doesn’t gun down black folks in their homes. We are going to clean up this criminal injustice system. That's it and that's all.

We must understand that there are disparities within the disparities: if you are black, if you are brown, if you are indigenous, and if you are poor, this system is rigged — it is rotten to the core. And we’re going to unrig it. That’s it and that’s all.

We are being tested right now for whether or not we’ve got enough courage, enough hope, and enough commitment to do what is necessary in this moment.

I’m running to improve the quality of life for working people in Cleveland and across the country. It’s not enough to simply acknowledge their struggles – it’s time we also do something about it.
