Front of our mind? The Clean Water Act, which turns 50 this year.

This legislation set an interim goal to see that all American waterways were fishable and swimmable by 1983… but half of all U.S. waterways are still impaired by pollution.

Your monthly gift will support litigation and advocacy—and help raise voices from every corner of the U.S. to restore the Clean Water Act. Here are just a few of our asks to ensure the Act can handle modern and future threats:
* EPA must implement clearer definitions, stronger pollution standards, meaningful deadlines, and prioritized enforcement.
* The law must address non-point source pollution, such as agricultural runoff from manure that is a major contributor to toxic algal blooms.
* The law should adapt to the realities of climate change and environmental justice.
* The law must be enforced.
