My name is Novie Craven. I’m a Special Olympics gold medalist in bocce, a coordinator for the Special Olympics Marketing Development team, and the host of the Inclusion Revolution Radio podcast. And I love the community I found at Special Olympics — everyone is so kind and helpful! Right away, I was welcomed with open arms. 

Everyone with intellectual disabilities (ID) should have the chance to feel inspired and connected by this community. I have played sports my whole life. But, sometimes, people excluded me because of my disabilities. It made me very lonely. I was beginning to lose hope — but then I found the awesome people at Special Olympics who helped me connect with other athletes with disabilities and once again play the sports I love. It was a game-changer!
