Hello,

When Democrats talk about Republicans’ efforts to make it harder to vote, this is what we mean: Iowa passed a law that shortens the number of days for early voting and actually forces polling places to close earlier this November!

There are things we can do to secure our elections from both foreign and domestic interference. But please explain to me, how does reducing the opportunity to vote strengthen our democracy or make our elections safer?

The right to vote is under attack. I did not serve our nation for nearly 4 decades to stand by and watch idly as our democracy is weakened for partisan political gain.

I’m running for Senate against Chuck Grassley because he’s become just a voice for Donald Trump and the most radical, insurrectionist fringe of the Republican party.

In order to fight back against Grassley's $3.7 million corporate PAC war chest, we need to raise $250,000 before our end-of-month deadline at midnight tomorrow. But with time running out, we’re still short. If I’m going to defeat Chuck Grassley and turn Iowa blue, I’m counting on grassroots donors like you to lend a hand and throw me a life ring in the form of a donation now:

Please, will you chip in $5 or more right now – every dollar you can afford before our end-of-month deadline at midnight tomorrow – to help me defeat Chuck Grassley, turn Iowa blue, and protect our Democratic majority in the Senate?

If you've saved payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately:

If Democrats in the Senate aren’t going to pass the Freedom to Vote: John Lewis Act, then we’ll have to out-organize the Republicans’ voter suppression laws. Your donation today will make that possible.

Thank you for being part of this team/crew,

Mike Franken, VADM, U.S. Navy (ret.)
