Today is a special day. It’s the day we honor the men and women who have put their lives on the line in service of our country. After all, it’s because of the bravery of our veterans that we get to vote for our leaders, seek elected office ourselves, or even send this email!

We must cherish our freedom, and give reverence to those who have fought for it. I've spent time listening to our veterans, sharing a coffee with some, and visiting others at the VA hospital. Hearing their stories was a humbling reminder of their sacrifice.

We cannot merely support veterans on Veterans Day – we must give them our support through action every day of the year. In Congress, I have fought for veterans at every turn. My bill to protect low-income veterans from financial scams was signed into law last Congress. I am committed to redoubling my fight for veterans in Congress — it’s the very least I can do.
