About OutSummit
This year, OutSummit will be the pre-cursor to our annual Advocacy Week at the United Nations, where LGBTIQ activists sit across the table from the world’s most pivotal governments and UN officials to name their priorities and demand accountability. Join us on Saturday, December 7 to take part in exciting conversation regarding the strategies of LGBTIQ activists globally.
Over 40 activists will be arriving in New York City to share their experiences advocating for LGBTIQ people around the world and learn together in a collaborative environment. During OutSummit, you will hear from these activists through panels, workshops, and presentations.
This year as a keynote speaker, OutRight will feature Victor Madrigal-Borloz– the United Nations Independent Expert on protection from violence and discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identity.
At this year's OutSummit we will hear from Jennifer Lu, coordinator of the Marriage Equality Coalition Taiwan, Reverend Nokuthula Dhladha a survivor of conversion therapy turned activist fighting against it in South Africa, and advocates from Indonesia, Botswana, Belize and many more countries. Themes include media, business and human rights, so-called conversion therapy and more. As more details come in, they can be found on OutSummit.org
