Candice is running to replace a Democrat who has voted with Republicans to undermine public education and recently voted with GOP lawmakers on a bill to ban transgender students from playing on sports teams that align with their gender identity. That’s not the kind of leadership Houston families deserve.

Candis is an educator with 17 years of experience in the classroom. As a single mother, she worked to put two daughters through college, working three jobs to provide for her family. As the president of her local teachers union, Candis fought every day for the students and parents in Houston schools—and now she’s ready to fight for them in the state legislature.
