Friends,
This Veteran's Day I would like to take this opportunity to honor those who have served in our Armed Forces and risked their lives for the security of our nation.
Their courage and patriotism to our country is truly awe-inspiring. And their sacrifices weigh heavily on my mind both when I'm in Washington and at home with my family.
But honoring our veterans and supporting their families goes beyond a single day.
I believe the best way we can honor our heroes is by providing critical housing, employment, and health services for those who need it. Moving forward, we must remain committed to protecting troops of all identities and citizenships. And we must ensure that our government doesn't just support our active duty heroes and their families, but all veterans who serve our nation and the families they leave behind.
As a Member of the House Armed Services Committee, I am acutely aware of our obligation to care for our brave service members and veterans. This Congress alone, I've had the honor of helping pass more than 24 bipartisan bills aimed at supporting our VA and local efforts to care for our heroes.
I pledge to continue working day in and day out to ensure that our service members and veterans receive the resources they need while defending our country and when they return home.
And to the heroes we honor today and every day -- thank you.
In gratitude,
Lori
