It's an investment that we need to continue making, time after time, if we want to win.
Hey John. It's Kelsie, Team Bowman's Organizing Director!
Now that we are officially in midterm year — and with not one, but two challengers to our seat in Congress — our organizing is beginning to ramp up.
So, I wanted to share a few things with you about our campaign's organizing efforts. But first, I have a favor to ask:
In just three days, we'll be hitting our first end-of-month deadline this year, and we need your help reaching our goal of $20,000 by then. On behalf of Jamaal and the rest of our team, I'm asking if you'd be able to chip in $3 so we can continue building our organizing programs, do voter outreach, and keep Jamaal in Congress legislating for our needs. Can we count on you?

Here are a few things we've been doing over the past few months to organize:
- Weekly phone banks to check in on our neighbors. Twice a week, Team Bowman staff and volunteers call folks in NY-16 to connect them with resources, talk to them about the campaign, and hear what issues matter most in our community.
- Keeping a close eye on redistricting. As New York continues to finalize congressional redistricting maps, our team and I are strategizing on ways to reach out to the new voters in our district and get them connected to the work we're doing on the campaign.
- Supporting mutual aid — particularly in our community. Last month, we collectively raised over $7,000 for mutual aid, from relief to the Bronx apartment fires to local food banks.
- Training volunteers to do phone banking, voter outreach, and so much more. As we get closer to the primary election, the more our voter outreach efforts will continue to ramp up. We're proactively training folks who are interested in getting involved right now — because our greatest asset is grassroots support.
John, I'm really proud of everything we've been able to do so far, and all that is to come. But the truth is, running a robust organizing program is expensive — and it's an investment that we need to build out as early as possible to be ready to organize and mobilize the hundreds of volunteers we will need to win.
In short: Every dollar we invest now — and the results that it will yield — is worth three times more than a dollar invested in June.
So, I'll ask one more time. Will you please chip in $3 or whatever you can to our campaign before our end-of-month fundraising deadline on January 31? We need to raise $20,000 to keep up with our plans for this critical year, and the election ahead.
Thank you,
Kelsie O'Leary, Organizing Director
