Team,

Earlier this week, Justice Breyer announced his retirement from the Supreme Court. After nearly 30 years of dedicated public service, it’s now the Senate’s responsibility to consider and confirm a new Justice.

But we know from experience that it might not be that simple.

In the past, Senate Republicans have worked to obstruct the process and endanger the fate of the Supreme Court. The Senate has an obligation to fill vacancies on the bench, and with so many important decisions on the horizon, we cannot allow any obstruction to the Senate’s process of reviewing and confirming a nominee.

Sign on now to send Mitch McConnell and the GOP a message: do not let partisan gridlock stand in the way of the Senate fulfilling its duty. [link removed]

Playing partisan games with the fate of the Supreme Court is bad for the court and bad for our country. Especially at such a pivotal moment during our recovery, we simply cannot allow for needless obstruction to interfere with the Senate confirmation process.

So here’s the deal: we’re asking folks from across the country to speak up and send a message to Senator Warner’s colleagues. Mitch McConnell and the GOP need to know that people expect them to fill the vacancy so that the Supreme Court functions properly and the Senate can rise to the occasion and focus on the pressing issues at hand.

We must prevent senseless obstruction and gridlock. Take a moment now and add your name to urge the Senate to meet its obligation and fill the vacancy. [link removed]

Thank you,

Team Warner
