Happy Veterans Day! Year-round, but especially today, I’m grateful for our nation’s heroes, and I celebrate their role in preserving our freedoms. Every year, it’s an honor for me to participate in Holyoke’s Veterans Day Ceremony. Here’s one of my favorite memories of this year, with some veterans from my hometown.

As I prepare for today’s ceremony, I want to say, once again, to all the veterans of the First District: Thank you so much for your service. All year, I’ll fight for progress on issues that touch your lives each and every day—health care, employment and job training, housing, and more.

You’ve given us so much, and our government should be ready to return the favor.
