Dear neighbor:
The COVID-19 pandemic has taught us just how important access to quality, affordable health care coverage can be. Thanks to the American Rescue Plan, Covered California is offering record-low costs on quality, name-brand health insurance plans to eligible Californians. Individuals and families who enroll with Covered California will now enjoy lower premiums throughout 2022. The deadline to enroll in 2022 health insurance is Monday, January 31st. To get covered and find a plan that works for you and your family, please go to coveredca.com.
Each year, my office hosts a bipartisan, multi-district Service Academy Day for those interested in attending or learning about our nation’s Service Academies. This year, the event will take place via Zoom on Saturday, February 19th at 1:00 p.m. PT. Please join us to hear from current attendees and alumni from the Service Academies and get your questions answered! To register, click here.
We are also now accepting submissions for our Spring 2022 Congressional Art Competition! The competition is a great chance for high school students who reside or attend school in CA-33 to showcase their artistic talents. The deadline to submit artwork is Friday, February 18th at 5:00 p.m. PT. For more information and submission details, please visit lieu.house.gov/services/art-competition.
COVID-19 Updates
I’m pleased that COVID-19 metrics in LA County are showing a decline in daily cases, positivity rate, and hospitalizations. Although this is encouraging news, LA County residents should not stop taking protective measures to reduce the spread and allow these declines to continue. This includes adhering to masking requirements and following quarantine/isolation guidelines.
As a reminder, every home in the U.S. is eligible to order four FREE at-home COVID-19 tests thanks to the Biden Administration. If you haven’t done so already, you can order your tests through the link below. The test kits will be delivered straight to your door.

COVID Fraud Warning: COVID pop-up testing sites should never ask for your personal information, such as bank information or your social security number. Please beware of scams and fake COVID tests. If you believe you’ve visited a fake COVID testing site or purchased a fake test, please call 800-593-8222 or click here to file a report.
Thank you for your continued resiliency as we fight our way through this pandemic as a community.
