Dear John,

In case you missed it, we released a new podcast series this week, Health Affairs Pathways. The podcast uses fresh voices to explore the avenues and alleyways of the health care system.

Affordable Care Act Updates
In an Eye On Health Reform column, Katie Keith wrote about the Build Back Better Act, which includes a range of policies that would augment the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and Medicaid.

Keith broke down data from the open enrollment period for the ACA Marketplaces and discussed the Supreme Court’s consideration of a lawsuit related to Section 1557 of the ACA, even as much ACA litigation remains on hold.

Keith wrote about states continuing to seek amended or extended waivers under Section 1332, and federal officials soliciting public comment on Georgia’s approved waiver to restructure its individual market.

To catch up on all things Affordable Care Act, read Katie Keith’s series, "Following The ACA," in Health Affairs Forefront.

Today in Health Affairs Forefront, formerly known as Health Affairs Blog, Y. Tony Yang and Diana Mason examine how the repeated surges of COVID-19 have worsened nursing shortages, in part due to burnout and moral distress.

Alice Hamblett and coauthors explore the relationship between State Department of Health relationships and their respective Department of Corrections and offer recommendations for improving COVID-19 response in prisons.

Yesterday, we published an article by Editor-in-Chief Alan Weil, in which he discusses how Health Affairs is setting priorities to advance health equity scholarship and elevate new scholarly voices.
