Ecuador's Annual Conference for Oil and Energy will be held next Tuesday, February 1. This event is the government's effort to attract global investment in oil and gas plans, many of which are aimed at the Amazon rainforest. Yasuní National Park, home to the Tagaeri and Taromenane Indigenous peoples living in voluntary isolation, is under direct threat. Our Indigenous partners oppose any extraction and expansion of oil and gas on their territories and are calling for our solidarity.

We're going to storm this event with messages of support, calling for an End to Amazon Crude and naming one of its biggest financiers, Citigroup. Will you join us?

The conference claims to be a space for reflection and analysis of the oil, energy, and gas markets on a national, regional, and global level, but we can't help but wonder how much time will be set aside to reflect on the destruction inflicted in the Amazon and to its Indigenous people.

Indigenous communities will organize outside of the conference in Quito, and you can play an important role by amplifying their message.
