USCCB Submits Recommendations to Family Reunification Task Force In response to a request from the Interagency Task Force on the Reunification of Families, USCCB/MRS submitted written recommendations to help prevent family separation in the future. Recommendations include rescinding harmful policies at the border that create instances of family separation, such as Title 42 and the Migrant Protection Protocols. The Task Force was established in response to the separations that occurred as a result of the Trump Administration’s “zero-tolerance” policy, implemented in 2018. Today, more than 1,000 children remain separated from their families as a result of the policy.
