John, I’m sure you’ve heard that Supreme Court Justice Breyer recently announced his retirement.
This is huge.
At this moment, our Senate majority is razor thin, and the midterms are only months away. We don’t have time to waste to replace Justice Breyer and put a Democratic-appointed justice on the court.

So many important issues—the right to choose, voting rights, LGBTQ+ rights—are decided by the Supreme court. The reality of our 50/50 Senate is that we are one positive COVID case or other unforeseen circumstance from being unable to confirm a historic nominee.
With conservative justices already outnumbering liberal justices, we can’t afford to miss this opportunity to keep Breyer’s seat secure for decades to come and fulfill President Biden’s promise to add the first Black woman to the Bench.
