In my first election, my opponent said I couldn’t win because I was a mom.

So I went door-to-door with my twin boys, and I defeated him by 30 points.

I went on to win statewide twice and became the first African American woman to serve as Chief Justice of North Carolina’s Supreme Court.

Now, I’m taking on my toughest race yet: North Carolina’s open U.S. Senate seat.

If you’re ready to flip North Carolina and expand our Democratic Senate majority, I’m humbly asking you to split a $5 donation between our campaign and Catherine Cortez Masto’s. There’s no doubt that we can win if we all work together and do our part.

We’ve seen the same playbook and same type of candidates time and time again in North Carolina. It’s time for us to try something new.

The obstacles are real. History shows that there’s a consistent trend of underfunding for women and people of color who run for office.

But like my mother told me – with hard work and faith, we can do anything. Running for Senate required a big leap of faith – faith in myself and faith that enough good people like you would step up to support us.
