John -- I wanted to give you an update. My bipartisan bill to create commonsense digital rules of the road passed the Judiciary Committee a few days ago and is closer to becoming law.

Here’s a fact: Monopoly power is out of control in industries across the economy and the result is fewer choices and higher prices for consumers. Right now, big tech gets to call all the shots online, to the detriment of consumers and small businesses.

So I’m doing something about it. For the first time since the dawn of the internet, a major tech competition bill is being sent to the Senate floor: the American Innovation and Choice Online Act. And it has strong bipartisan support. CNBC reported that this bill is our “best shot at making substantial reform to laws that govern big tech.”

It’s part of my work as chair of the Judiciary Subcommittee on Competition Policy, Antitrust and Consumer Rights to make sure our antitrust laws are updated. It’s a matter of fairness and helping people.

If you want to see more of that, will you consider making a donation today to help me do this important work?
