John —
The Commonwealth Court just ruled that Act 77 — a law allowing residents to vote by mail in Pennsylvania — is unconstitutional. This attack on voting rights is completely without merit and a partisan power grab.
Republicans are shamelessly using voter suppression as a vehicle to win every election possible. Their blatant intention is to make it harder for Black and Brown people to vote. And it's clear voter suppression is their election strategy for the midterms and beyond.
President Biden flipped Pennsylvania blue by just one percentage point in 2020, and Trump won it by less in 2016. Pennsylvania is one of the most competitive states in the country — we can't let Republicans rig elections in their favor while stomping on the civil rights of Black and Brown people.
Republicans are showing their hand, John: They know they need voter suppression to win elections. This must not stand, and I look forward to an appeal to the PA Supreme to correct this egregious ruling. Add your name next to mine and join me in condemning the Commonwealth Court's undemocratic and dangerous ruling.
In solidarity,
