I have some bad news to share – the Cook Political Report downgraded IL-06 to “Lean Democrat,” which means we’re now one rating away from a “toss-up.”

A toss-up means that the election could really go either way – there’s about a 50/50 chance of a Republican winning or a Democrat winning. And frankly, those odds are too close for comfort.

We need to do everything in our power to make sure our rating doesn’t drop again. If it does, Republicans will flood this race with even more dollars than they’re already spending in order to sway the results of the election in their favor.

The first month of the new FEC fundraising quarter comes to a close in just three days. Will you chip in $25 or more to help us finish out the month strong?

The best way to show pundits, election analysts, and our Republican opponents that we aren’t giving up this seat is to post incredibly strong fundraising numbers.

We’re in a strong position, but we need to raise at least $70,000 more if we really want to intimidate Republicans and show them that we aren’t messing around. 

So, folks – will you chip in $25 or more today to give me the resources to defend my seat from the Trump-loyalists and far-right extremists who are watching this race closely in hopes of flipping IL-06 red?

I know that, as a team, there’s nothing we can’t accomplish – including keeping this seat blue.
