We need to be honest with you.

Every month, we sit down to map out exactly how much money we need to raise with our grassroots supporters in order to have the resources we need to win this election in November.

But now, we need to raise our fundraising goal for January.

You probably know we've had a lot of serious hurdles in January, and we need to respond. We wanted to be honest with you and tell you why we need to raise our goal:
- Thanks to redistricting, Tom is now in one of the most difficult districts for Democrats in November. We're going to have to fight tooth and nail, but we can win with your support.
- Donald Trump came to our district to spread lies and misinformation about the election. His supporters are preparing to try and defeat Tom, and we're going to need to be ready.
- National Republicans have already signaled they are targeting this district as a seat they think they can win in 2022. We think our grassroots supporters will prove them wrong.
- To overcome these setbacks, we're raising our end-of-month goal today — we need to raise $7,000 from our grassroots supporters in order to stay on track to win this election.
