Last summer, I was invited by Greenpeace to join Operation Ocean Witness for a day out patrolling the English Channel for fly shooters. Local fishermen with smaller boats had told the crew that the infamous fly shooters could catch more in an hour than they could catch in a year and that they were ruining our livelihoods and our oceans' health.

As a kid, we never used to go abroad, we used to go to Devon. You're never that far from the sea in this country; we're a little island, it's a huge part of who we are. I think it's very important that it be protected.

And that starts with me and you. We need to make noise because the politicians just aren’t doing enough and we need them to act quickly.
