Friends, the California State Senate passed our sponsored bill, the Climate Corporate Accountability Act (SB 260), on Wednesday!

This is a huge win for climate action -- and shows the power of our advocacy and accountability work, from our legislative team’s lobbying efforts to the hundreds of members like you who reached out to your State Senator.

This is just the first step in passing this critical climate bill. It still needs to pass the Assembly and get signed into law by the Governor.

SB 260 would require large billion-dollar corporations that conduct business in California to publicly disclose their carbon emissions in a clear and transparent way.

100 corporations are responsible for 71 percent of all global industrial carbon emissions, so no serious conversation about climate action can leave out corporate disclosures and reductions. This decade is our last chance to prevent irreversible catastrophe and ensure a safe and healthy future for all Californians.
