John,
One of the biggest hurdles we face in this campaign is overcoming inertia. Our opponent has served more than two decades and is a reliable Democratic vote. Why do things differently?
Well, I am glad you are on on my side, because we know that the current system isn't working for most Americans. We pay more for health care than most in the developed world, and we get less. We listen to incumbents talk a good game, then we watch as they shovel up corporate PAC money to get re-elected.
When I ran with the Justice Democrats last cycle, we said "Enough!" to the corporate greed guiding our party and poisoning our politics. We know the incumbent won't fight the status quo and that's why we're fighting to win. Our district is one of the most liberal in America - one of those districts that Speaker Pelosi says can be won by a glass of water with a "D" next to it. And we know, as Nina Turner says, any ole blue just won’t do.
I know that many candidates are asking for your support and I am so grateful for your consideration. Here in Chicago, I know that we can win with your support. I am glad you are with me, building a movement with the momentum to truly change Congress in 2020. It's not enough that we elect Democrats - each of us must push as hard as we can to return power to the people. Will you chip in today for our end of quarter deadline and help ensure we can keep up the momentum here in IL-07? I will fight for the issues that expand voter participation and that will turn our economy around for working people: free college and trade schools, living wages, a federal job guarantee, Medicare for All, and the Green New Deal. We know this transformative agenda is widely popular - our allies in Congress need reinforcements and I AM READY!
Thank you for your support,
Anthony Clark for Congress (IL-07)
