Today, I want to share my personal journey on how we got here today and how we’re getting to the White House. You've been with us every step of the way. Growing up, I wondered if I’d always be an outsider. I worried that something deep inside me, something beyond my control, meant that I’d never wear my nation’s uniform, never be accepted by my community, never know love. Now, I’m a veteran. I’m a mayor. I’m a husband to an amazing man, and I’m a candidate for president of the United States. This is proof that when America is at its best, it moves in the direction of inclusivity, belonging, and expanding opportunities to succeed.

Further proof? This campaign.

As Mike told you yesterday, the PFA team started as a group of friends with no money and an unthinkable dream of creating a presidency. Now, we have hundreds of staff across the country. We have dozens of campaign offices, thousands of volunteers, hundreds of thousands of grassroots donors, and staggering momentum where it matters most. I just wrapped up a bus tour in Iowa, and I’m currently in New Hampshire.

I have never been more confident about the strength of our campaign.

In America, this is how a presidency is made: when a group of passionate, dedicated people come together and give their all to the hopes of a better, more unified, more JUST America.
