Over the last couple of weeks, one thing has become very clear: all eyes are on CA-27.
Major news outlets and politicos have been touting CA-27 as the best chance for Democrats to flip a seat from red to blue. To put it simply, keeping our House majority runs straight through this district.
Like a southbound traffic jam on the 5 during rush hour, there is simply no way around it. But in all seriousness, folks, with Republican gerrymandering, voter suppression, and a tough midterm election ahead, we cannot afford to lose out on one of the most flippable districts in the country.
I've said it before, but it bears repeating: The 2020 election in this district came down to just 333 votes. There is simply no room for error – the margins are just too slim.
With our new Congressional maps, our odds have gotten better, but it's still going to take resources and a tremendous amount of grassroots support to flip the district and keep our Democratic majorities.
John, this election is historic. It's only January and the stakes couldn't be higher with the Supreme Court, abortion rights, voter suppress all on the table -- all while we face yet another COVID surge.
All eyes are on CA-27 this year. No pressure though, I know we got this. Now is our time to shine.
