Yesterday, I said Biden was in the smuggling business.

Breaking News! On America’s Newsroom yesterday I discussed the Biden administration’s smuggling business, flying illegal migrants around the United States. Here’s the footage that proves I was right.

By allowing secret charter flights to transport illegal migrants across the country, Biden has completely turned his back on the American people. The Biden administration is doing what human smugglers try to do every day at our border. This is outrageous and must stop!

Earlier this morning, I announced the creation of the Texas Senate Committee on Border Security. The committee will oversee the funding and policies of Texas’ effort to secure our border and ensure we are maximizing that effort. I have selected Sens. Birdwell, Hall, and Hinojosa to the committee since they have the military experience and knowledge of operations, strategy, and tactics to best serve our southern border.

This new committee is necessary because Biden’s refusal to secure our southern border puts Americans at risk and endangers our communities. Public safety is the government’s first responsibility, and there is no greater threat to public safety in Texas right now than the failed, open-border policies of the Biden administration.

Within the first three months of our current fiscal year, Customs and Border Protection agents seized more than 2,700 lbs of fentanyl. To put this into perspective, one kilogram of fentanyl can kill 500,000 people.

Biden knows exactly what is going on, but he refuses to do anything about this. Is he trying to punish Texas? He knows innocent people are dying and will continue to die because of his reckless open-border policies. He knows drugs are pouring across our border. He knows our border communities are strained for resources and have begged him for help. He knows our Border Patrol agents are overwhelmed and are not receiving the support they need from the federal government. This is a president who just does not care.

Since I was elected as your Lt. Governor, I listened to the concerns of Texans about securing our border. In 2017, I led the fight to ban sanctuary cities in Texas. This past legislative session, I approved several billion dollars for border security — more than any other Lt. Governor in history.

It is for these reasons that the National Border Patrol Council endorsed me for re-election. These men and women know the border better than anyone else. I am so grateful for their endorsement, and I will continue to support them with everything they need to keep Texans safe.

Running for Lt. Governor in 2014 and again in 2018, I pledged to fund border security at historic levels. I kept my promise. This year, I approved funding to build the wall. Texas will secure the border and get the job done. Unlike the Biden administration, we will stand our ground and do whatever is necessary to keep our communities safe.

In Texas, we are turning conservative policy into conservative legislation. The Democrats are trying to defeat me at the ballot box because they want to keep our borders open.
