Last week, a federal appeals court left the country’s most restrictive abortion law in place after it rejected a request from abortion providers to return their legal challenge to a trial court judge who had previously blocked the law.

The ruling temporarily transfers the case to the Texas Supreme Court, honoring a request by state officials that could leave the dispute in limbo for months.

While Texas led the way in ending abortion rights across the country, Future Forum Dems led the way in protecting reproductive freedom. Back in September, Future Forum was instrumental in passing the Women’s Health Protection Act, a critical step toward protecting Roe v. Wade.
