Dear friend–
Overnight, a shooting at a hotel party killed one and left multiple people injured [[link removed]] , four of which were women in Washington, D.C. Shootings like these may never receive the media attention, but that doesn’t mean their pain doesn’t deserve swift action to prevent gun violence like this from happening in our communities.
Our country continues to see a spike in gun violence, including mass shootings, at unprecedented levels.
Many of these shootings are in Black and brown communities, yet these tragedies are rarely reported and the political action following is more rare.
But we are here to change that.
This year, the Community Justice Action Fund will do everything in our power to raise awareness to this issue, and advance solutions that will help families and individuals heal, while disrupting this ongoing cycle of gun violence.
Join our movement today to achieve real change and end this cycle of gun violence.
TAKE ACTION [[link removed]]We need your help urging lawmakers at the federal, state, and local level to invest in community-based violence intervention programs in order to reduce gun violence, and provide essential services to those most vulnerable to gun violence.
Onward,
Pamela Mejia
